Secular Understanding Is Not Enough

When considering a lifestyle free from debt, secular financial understanding is not enough and it becomes woefully insufficient in the long-term perspective. If you only review the practical aspects of your finances and not first understand God’s principles, it will only leave you with holes in your pocket.

Spiritual principles cannot be ignored. Faith, obedience, giving God His due (called tithing), giving to the poor, giving to the church through offerings, living a principled life and on and on will help you ultimately become debt free.

Haggai 1:6
“You plant much but harvest little. You have scarcely enough to eat or drink and not enough clothes to keep you warm. Your income disappears, as though you were putting it into pockets filled with holes!” (TLB)

Malachi 3:10-11
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so that there will be food enough in my Temple; if you do, I will open up the windows of heaven for you and pour out a blessing so great you won’t have room enough to take it in! “Try it! Let me prove it to you! Your crops will be large, for I will guard them from insects and plagues. Your grapes won’t shrivel away before they ripen,” says the Lord Almighty.” (TLB)

Tell me “your” story of understanding. Your comments appreciated!
